Russian Foundation for Humanities and Social Sciences
The Russian Foundation for the Humanities and Social Sciences (German name, the literal translation of the Russian name Российский гуманитарный научный фонд is Russian Foundation for the Humanities ) is a state-run Russian funding agency for the humanities and social sciences . It manages programs to promote scientific projects, conferences, expeditions, competitions and publications.
The head office is located in Moscow , ulitsa Presnensky Wal 17.
A cooperation agreement has existed with the DFG since 2005. The foundation was established by a decree of the Government of the Russian Federation of September 8, 1994 No. 1023 in which Evgeny V. Semenova was appointed as the founding director.
Vladimir Nikolayevich Fridlyanov, a doctor of economics, is the chairman of the foundation's board of directors.
Infrastructure
The fund also supports 2000 libraries and projects for the creation of information systems for humanities research such as multimedia information systems, electronic dictionaries, electronic publications, electronic catalogs, electronic scientific libraries, databases, information portals and search engines.
Publication of popular science books
The foundation also publishes a number of popular science books, known as popular editions, with which it aims to make the results of its research accessible to a broader public. The full texts have also been available for download since 2012.
