Ruth Goodman

Ruth Leslie Goodman (born around 1961 in the United States ) is an American writer who, under the name Meagan McKinney, wrote a number of romance novels that are classified as trivial .

life and work

Goodman is a biologist, but later gave up this profession to work full-time as a writer. A marriage to Thomas Roberson, during which she was named Ruth Goodman Roberson , had two children. In 1987 Goodman published her first novel, No Choice But Surrender , a Bodice Ripper about a young British noblewoman who succumbs to the charm of a villainous American with opaque subjects. Her books have been published by the New York publishers Dell and Kensington . Since 1999 she has also published for Harlequin . Many of her books have been translated into other languages, and since 1992 Bastei Lübbe has published German editions.

Goodman was later divorced and lived with the children in New Orleans . In 2011 she was sentenced to three years in prison for fraud.
