Sao Joao (Abrantes)

São João is a village and a former municipality ( freguesia ) in Portugal and belongs to the Abrantes district in the Santarém district .

The Freguesia São João had an area of ​​2.21 km² and 1697 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).

On September 29, 2013, the Freguesias Abrantes (S. Vicente) , São João (Abrantes) and Alferrarede were merged to form the new Freguesia União das Freguesias de Abrantes (São Vicente e São João) e Alferrarede .
