Alferrarede is a village and a former municipality ( freguesia ) in Portugal and belongs to the Abrantes district in the Santarém district .

The Freguesia Alferrarede had an area of ​​24.1 km² and 3889 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).

On September 29, 2013, the Freguesias Abrantes (S. Vicente) , Abrantes (São João) and Alferrarede were merged to form the new Freguesia União das Freguesias de Abrantes (São Vicente e São João) e Alferrarede .
