The pillar in the surf is a fountain sculpture on Adenauerplatz in Berlin's Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf district .

description

The fountain sculpture is made of stainless steel and stands on a flat, round stone basin. The sculpture, consisting of a 4 meter high column, is encased in welded metal tubes that diverge about halfway up like a blossom. Water escapes between the column and the pipes. It was designed by the sculptor couple Matschinsky-Denninghoff and has been on Adenauerplatz since May 22, 1974.
