Sécurité

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sécurité is a security message in maritime radio traffic . The message is a priority radio message . This means that normal radio communication has to cease (requirement of radio discipline ). After the emergency and emergency calls Mayday and Pan-Pan , Sécurité calls are the least urgent.

The content can be, for example, official meteorological warnings or navigation instructions, but also warnings from a ship about uncontrolled drifting potential obstacles (for example cargo that has gone overboard). Usually, these messages are transmitted on an emergency frequency with the specification of a working frequency, under which the details can then be found out.

In Morse code, security messages are introduced with the letters TTT.
