Söderskär [ ˈsøːdərʃæːr ] is the name of one of the outer Porvoo islands on the south coast of Finland , about 15 nautical miles from Helsinki .

The first wooden lighthouse is said to have been built on the island as early as the beginning of the 18th century . The current lighthouse was built in 1862. The top of the lighthouse is 40 meters above water. The island can be visited by boat from Helsinki and can be reached in around 3.5 hours.
