The vehicles of the type Dübs B of the Natal Government Railways (NGR) were tank locomotives with the wheel arrangement 2'D1 '.

Dübs and Company delivered 25 copies in 1904. The locomotives were the first to be designed by DA Hendrie, the chief engineer of the NGR. Compared to the Dübs A type , the machines were enlarged in most of the dimensions with the same basic structure and about 10 t heavier. Like their predecessors, they had plate frames, internal Stephenson controls and inclined cylinders that worked on the second coupling axis.

The locomotives were intended for passenger train service on the main line departing from Durban , but were soon displaced by the Hendrie B type tender locomotives and relocated to the line between Ladysmith and Harrismith .

The South African Railways (SAR) took over all 25 copies as class G in 1910 . The last of the locomotives remained in service until 1962, most recently in the shunting service in Pietermaritzburg . No copy has survived.
