Like other related creativity techniques, SCAMMPERR is mainly used in the product development of possible new products. Not all of these are necessarily practical, but should serve as a starting point. The challenging nature of the individual steps is used for structuring. Because of the abstract character, the application in groups is often associated with initial difficulties. This technology can be introduced and used quickly with moderation or a tight schedule and implementation regime.
