The SC Golling is a Tennengau sports club from the market town of Golling an der Salzach . Consisting of the “Football” section, the club plays its home games in the Gollinger Rabenstein Stadium. The team currently plays in the Salzburg league .
history
The sports club was founded in autumn 1946 in a back room of the "Hauslwirt", where the club was launched in the presence of the then ASKÖ regional chairman, Rupert Köpf. As prescribed, the club was reported to the American occupation forces shortly before that, at that time still under the name ATSV Golling.
The first functionaries were Martin Ludwig (chairman), Karl Negrin (chairman deputy), Karl Denk (section head), Blasius Kainhofer (secretary).
Space shortage and opening of the sports field in the Salzach settlement
In the first three years all "home games" were played in Tenneck and Puch. It was not until 1949 that the blue-and-yellow "wandering years" could end and the SC Golling received its first home in the Salzach settlement.
This place, which served the club as home for 28 years, was known for its poor condition. The reasons for this were numerous. On the one hand, the square was less than 30 meters away from the Salzach and was flooded at regular intervals. The flood disaster in 1959 was dramatic, not only for the sports club but also for the entire town. Two seasons followed in which the SC could not play any home games on their own pitch. After that, the sports facility in the Salzach settlement not only served other clubs (SV Kuchl, USV Abtenau, 1. Halleiner SK) as temporary accommodation, but also had to be released for other purposes, such as circus performances.
In June 1977, the company moved to the Rabenstein, where the sports club's home games are still played today. In 2008/2009 the Rabenstein Stadium was extensively renovated and rebuilt.
1946/47 - the first season
In the year the club was founded, the club entered the official game operations. The club, which at that time was still listed under the name ATSV Golling, played its first season in the 2nd class North, in which the season ended in 1947 with a draw and nine defeats.
The first championship game took place on September 1, 1946 against ÖTSU Seekirchen and was lost 2: 3.
Rabenstein sports complex
The club has been playing its home games at the foot of the Rabenstein since 1977, which has since given the SCG's venue its name. The facility consists of a main field and two training fields, north and west of it. In the winter months you can move to the south adjoining hall of the new middle school.
The sports facility was largely renovated and rebuilt in 2008. The audience is then allocated a to the center line covered grandstand seats available. Since the 2012/13 season it has also been possible to take a standing room on the west side of the pitch. On special occasions there is additional standing room between the middle school and the playing field, which until today only had to be used for the home game against SV Austria Salzburg on April 13, 2009. At that time, 1700 viewers appeared for the state league game (final score 2: 2).
Youth work
The sports club has set itself the task of filling the majority of its combat teams with players from its own youngsters. In order to train the youth accordingly, the majority of the teams have at least two young trainers. In the summer of 2012, the club entered into extensive cooperation with the neighboring club SV Kuchl , which pursues similar goals with its youth work.
Since 2011, SC Golling has been organizing a five-day soccer camp for sports-loving children from the area once a year together with “kick & learn Austria”.
The sports club is represented in the Salzburg youth leagues with the following age groups: U8, U10, U12, U14, U16.
