SMPEG

SMPEG (abbreviation for SDL MPEG ) is a program library that provides video functions for multimedia applications. The library was originally developed by Loki Software . Since both SMPEG and SDL are under the LGPL , the library uses the MPEG-1 and not the MPEG-2 standard. This is due to the patent situation with regard to MPEG-2 within the USA .
