SNCF Réseau is a French state company that operates the railway infrastructure of the French state railway SNCF and thus almost the entire French railway network.

history

SNCF Réseau was formed as part of a reform of the French railway system by merging the previous route network operator Réseau ferré de France (RFF) with the SNCF Infra and Direction de la circulation ferroviaire (DCF) divisions and started work on January 1, 2015. The previous RFF boss Jacques Rapoport became the founding director . In February 2016, the company's headquarters were relocated from Paris to the La Plaine Saint-Denis business district in the Seine-Saint-Denis department .

SNCF Réseau acts as owner for the French state and operates routes with a total length of around 30,000 km, of which around 2,000 km are high-speed lines . This also includes around 1,700 tunnels, 27,000 bridges, 1,100 railway underpasses and 2,250 signal boxes .
