The Solcom Holding GmbH (proper spelling: SOLCOM) is the umbrella organization of Solcom GmbH , a project service provider with headquarters in Reutlingen .
Solcom specialized in employing highly qualified freelancers in the field of engineering and IT projects, as well as services in the field of managed service providing and third party management . The holding company generated sales of 117.2 million euros in 2018 and employs around 200 people at various locations in Germany. The company's headquarters are in Reutlingen. There are also branches in Essen, Hamburg, Karlsruhe, Munich and Stuttgart. According to the Lünendonk 2019 list for freelance brokers, Solcom ranks 6th in Germany and had a turnover of 105.4 million euros with the placement of IT freelancers.
history
Solcom was founded as a sole proprietorship in 1994, followed three years later by the transfer to a GmbH under the name Solcom Unternehmensberatung . An umbrella organization, the SOLCOM Holding since 2010 , was founded in 2009 and the GmbH is subordinate to it. The holding has been led by Norbert Doll since 2015. On January 1, 2016, the name was changed to Solcom GmbH . In the same year, the company started to open branches across Germany. In February 2018, founder Thomas Müller handed over the management of SOLCOM to Oliver Koch and Martin Schäfer. He will continue to work in the company.
In 2018, the public prosecutor's office in Tübingen carried out an investigation and a house search in the company on suspicion of bogus self-employment with freelancers. SOLCOM contradicted the allegations.

Solcom market barometer
The Solcom project market index describes the development of the German market for filling projects with freelance IT and engineering specialists. The quarterly development of the market for filling the projects is shown by the Solcom market barometer. The index is made up of Solcom's own values “development of applications per tender”, “average hourly rate”, “development of project tenders” and “speed of filling an open position ”together.
Solcom market studies
The company carries out statistical surveys on the project market at regular intervals. Current topics are used to shed light on the economic and social situation of freelancers.

Employee day care center
At the beginning of 2020, Solcom GmbH opened a day-care center for the company's employees. The company works with the Reutlingen day-care center.
Reutlingen old town run
SOLCOM has sponsored and named after the Solcom Old Town Run in Reutlingen since 2017. The Interest Group Laufen (IGL) is the organizer of the run, which has been taking place since 1992.
