The SV Freden (officially: Sportverein Freden von 1919 eV ) is a football club from the municipality of Freden (Leine) in the district of Hildesheim in Lower Saxony .

Club history

The club in its current form emerged from SC Frisch Auf, founded in 1919, as well as the free and German gymnastics club Groß- and Kleinfreden .

Football department

In the 1947/48 season, SV Freden played in the Lower Saxony State League, the highest amateur class in Lower Saxony at the time. The club rose at the end of the season as penultimate of the season Hildesheim. After the SV Freden belonged to the second highest amateur class until 1951, he only played in the lower divisions of the Lower Saxony Football Association .

In the 2000s, SV Freden commuted between the district league and the underlying 1st district class in the Hildesheim football district. Since relegation in the 2018/19 season, the club has played in the 1st district class.
