Sabbitha

The Sabbitha was a Persian measure of volume for grain and dry fruits. In addition to the important measure that the Artaba was, there were the Legana and the Sabbitha for the same area of application. All three dimensions were valid side by side. The goods were sold by weight.

1 Sabbitha = 22 sextarios = 7.3396 liters (calculated from 65.268 liters)
1 Artaba = 9 1/11 Sabbithas = 3288.8 Parisian cubic inches = 65.238 liters
11 Artabas = 100 Sabbitbas from this relationship, 1 Sabbitha = 7.17618 liters
48 1/2 Artabas = 1 hamburger load
