Sainey Jawara was a candidate for the National Reconciliation Party (NRP) in the 2017 parliamentary elections in the Lower Saloum constituency in the Janjanbureh Administrative Region . With 46.27% he was able to win the constituency in front of the independent candidate Biran Saine.
