String lifter

A string lifter is a tool used in violin making .

In violin making, the string lifter has the task of replacing the actual bridge of the violin at short notice if it has to be removed from the violin during manufacture or correction. It is placed next to the wooden walkway and adjusted in height using an adjusting screw. The strings can remain energized, saving for a time when you switch on the other hand a drop of when using the Saitenabhebers vocal stick prevents. There are string lifters for violin or viola , cello and double bass .
