The Sakya Man Aung Pagoda is a Buddhist stupa in Mrauk U , Myanmar , about one kilometer northeast of the palace. It was built in 1629 under King Thiri Thudham Ma Raza .

description

The area of the pagoda is surrounded by a high stone wall. The gate is guarded by two kneeling giants. The plan of the stupa is an eight-petalled lotus flower, with the sides to the cardinal points being longer than those in between. The pyramid initially rises octagonally, but after nine steps it takes on the round shape of a bell and culminates with the usual elements of a turban, double lotus and banana blossom in a gold-plated hat .
There are several smaller stupas and an ordination hall with nine Buddhas sitting on altars on the site of the pagoda. The wooden ceiling of the hall is supported by columns with lotus bases and capitals and is adorned with three circular representations, each of which surrounds a lotus blossom: eight figures on horseback, then sixteen animals and finally twelve image segments with different contents.
