Sala Nacional de Exposiciones

Sala Nacional de Exposiciones (also called Salarrué ) is a public building and exhibition hall in San Salvador . The building is located in the grounds of the Parque Cuscatlán park .

Salarrué was built in 1934 and opened in 1939 by the then President of El Salvador Maximiliano Hernández Martínez with the first exhibition of paintings and sculptures by well-known Salvadoran artists.

The building also serves as a venue for lectures and readings. Next to the large sal there is also an art library and a workshop for restoring works of art. As a permanent facility, it also houses the Colección Nacional de Pintura y Escultura .
