Salifu Jawo stood as a candidate for the Gambia Democratic Congress (GDC) in the 2017 parliamentary elections in the constituency of Jokadu in the Kerewan Administrative Area . With 46.10% he was able to win the constituency before Sait A. Joof (UDP) for himself.
