Salwa Fawzi El-Deghali ( Arabic سلوى فوزي الدغيلي, DMG Salwā Fauzī ad-Diġailī , * in Benghazi ) is a Libyan legal scholar who was a member of the National Transitional Council .

El-Deghali received his PhD in constitutional law and taught at the Academy of Graduate Studies in Benghazi before the outbreak of the Libyan civil war in 2011 .

She was the representative of women in the transition council and was the only one of three women in the transition council known by name. However, she assumes that women will form an integral part of the government in the future.

She also chaired the Legal Affairs Committee . This was primarily responsible for building a stable government, writing laws for the transition period and preparing the official elections. It also investigated suspected war crimes against troops of Muammar al-Gaddafi and worked with the International Criminal Court .
