Sam Terris

Sam Terris († 1974 ) was an American boxer in the lightweight and bantamweight .

As an amateur , Terris played a total of 50 fights, all of which he was able to win. In 1922 he won the New York state, New York City, national and international amateur lightweight championships . In bantamweight he was among other things champion at the organization Amateur Athletic Union (AAU for short).

Although he never boxed for the world title among the professionals , he had an honorable and quite good professional career.

Terris died in 1974.

Terris was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame (IBHOF) in the Old Timers category in 2018 .
