Temple and former monastery of San Nicolas de Tolentino in Actopan.

The Monastery of San Nicolás of Tolentino is a Spanish Augustinian mission in Actopan in the Mexican state of Hidalgo . It was founded on March 2nd, 1546, the day of Saint Nicholas of Tolentino , for the conversion of the local indigenous people of the Otomí . The mission lies in an ascent of the Valle del Mezquital . The temple and monastery are the only mission under the leadership of the Instituto Nacional de Antropología e Historia (INAH).
