San Vítor de Barxacova ( Galic . Capela e necrópole de San Vítor de Barxacova) is an archaeological site in Parada de Sil , in the municipality of San Lorenzo de Barxacova in Galicia , Spain .

description

The remains of a medieval chapel and a necropolis with mostly anthropomorphic graves carved in stone were excavated . The up to 2.5 m long graves are mostly west-east oriented. In the southern area, the graves are mostly arranged in a fan shape by adapting to the natural shape of the rock.

The site is located in the Mao river valley, near the confluence with the Sil. For a time it was an important route. Nearby is the road to the Roman Bridge of Canceliñas, where a Bronze Age sword was found.

It is not known when the chapel was demolished. According to oral tradition, the stone walls of the chapel stood until the 19th century.
