Plumbing chop

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A sanitary cut is the felling of dying or dead trees or groups of trees outside of their intended use. On the one hand, neighboring trees should be protected from the respective disease (particularly pest infestation ), but the aim is also to use the trunks before they are devalued. The word is derived from the Latin sanitas ( health ). What is meant here is the protection of the health of the trees that have not yet been infested. Regionally, this procedure is also referred to as a "collective blow", "cleansing blow" or "totality blow".
