Sartor (librarian)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sartor from Lindau probably worked in the library of the St. Gallen monastery between 1530 and 1540 .

Johannes Hofmeister , appointed by Abbot Diethelm Blarer from Wartensee to St. Gallen , had apparently suggested a certain Sartor as an employee for the reorganization of the library. The chroniclers promised him an improper lifestyle. These attributions, like the vague information about himself, should be treated with caution.
