Suck drinking

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A pigeon sucks water from a lake.

As suction Rinken refers to a drinking behavior of species of birds, a large amount of water is absorbed very rapidly at that. This drinking behavior stands out clearly from the sip-by-sip drinking that most bird species show. Species that show this behavior reduce the amount of time they spend exposed at a watering place. This reduces their risk of being hit by birds of prey.

Sucks Rinken is particularly typical of pigeons , but also for Laufhühnchen , mouse birds , orioles and bustards and for some finches TYPES as Gouldian , masked finch , long-tailed finch , Gürtelamadine and zebra finch .
