Scan Line Corrector

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A Scan Line Corrector ( SLC ) is a device for correct scanning of the earth's surface with rotary scanners in remote sensing . This ensures that the lines recorded along the flight path adjoin one another or are parallel to one another.

The failure of this function in the Landsat 7 satellite since May 31, 2003 within the ETM + device has led to a significant deterioration in data quality.
