A shaker or shaker is a laboratory device for evenly mixing liquid samples or reagents .

Shaking machines in the laboratory are available in different designs. In overhead shaker stoppered round bottom flask are firmly clamped and about a horizontal axis at the top slowly rotated, then the contents of the flasks that continuously mixed. In flat bed shaking machines, Erlenmeyer flasks or beakers are kept in constant motion by shaking and / or circular movements of the horizontal support, thereby mixing the liquid content.
