The club Fischbach , who is based in the town of Quierschied has is one of the oldest chess clubs of the Saarland .

On April 13, 1913, on the initiative of Adolf Jung, thirteen chess friends in Fischbach founded a chess club on the Saar for the first time. The first chairman was August Jost. The 1913 Fischbach chess club was instrumental in founding the Saarland Chess Association in 1921 after the First World War .

As a result, the club's top players were among the strongest players in the Saar region . Fischbacher chess players have won the title of Saarland national champion five times: Adolf Haas three times, Felix Jost and Felix Jung once each. Between 1926 and 1930 the first team several times in succession Saarland was team champion , in 1938 the title was won again. Fischbach also played an important role in the Saarland class in the post-war period.

The traditional club currently has two teams in the Association League and the District League.
