from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Schafhof is a residential area of Kirchheim unter Teck in the Esslingen district (Baden-Württemberg). The residential area is located about 1.5 kilometers northeast of Kirchheim unter Teck and was built between 1979 and 1984. In 2010 the area had about 2000 inhabitants.

history

The Schafhof emerged from the hamlet of Westerbach , which was lost in the late Middle Ages . It is named after the Schaaf family, who owned the farm from 1515 to 1750 from the Kirchheim monastery as a fief . As early as 1492, the sheep farm belonged to the Kirchheim monastery, whose goods were administered after 1564 by the Kirchheim monastery master's office in Württemberg . The Schafhof was destroyed in the Thirty Years War , but then rebuilt. In 1843 the hamlet of Schafhof is described as a branch of Kirchheim unter Teck with 42 and 43 inhabitants respectively.

traffic

The Schafhof residential area is served every half hour by bus route 163, which leads to Kirchheim city center, the train station, Lindorf and Ötlingen. The timetable is every hour on Saturday afternoons and Sundays.
