Art object made from formwork panels

Formwork panels or formwork panels are plywood or solid wood panels for the construction of formwork in concrete construction . Usually fir or spruce wood is used for the production. Usual formwork panels made of plywood are glued in three layers and, depending on the intended use, provided with edge protection made of galvanized sheet steel on the end grain side.

Formwork panels are mainly used for ceiling formwork. A common format has dimensions of 200 x 50 cm with a thickness of 21 or 27 mm.

Shuttering panels without edge protection are as shuttering skin for beam formwork used. With high-quality panels, exposed concrete surfaces can be formed on which no panel joints can be seen after concreting. These high-quality panels are often coated with resins and sealed at the cut surfaces.
