Euro Schatz Future

A Euro Schatz Future (or Schatz Future for short ) is a stock exchange futures contract on short-term, fixed-income and fictitious federal treasury bonds or bonds from the former trust company .

The term of a Schatz Future is 9 months. The underlying Schatz bond runs for between 1.75 and 2.25 years with an interest rate of 6 percent. Schatz futures are traded on the Eurex futures exchange under the product code FGBS, with the nominal value of a Schatz futures always being EUR 100,000.

The difference between the Schatz Futures and the Bobl Futures is the maturity, which in the case of the latter is not short-term but rather medium-term.
