from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Cunrat Segenschmid , also Cunrad , Conrad , Konrad (* in Heimenkirch ; † 1489 ) was a writer of the late Middle Ages and pastor in Heimenkirch for 21 years .

The manuscript “History of Jason and Troja” by Hans Mair von Nördlingen († 1407/8) made by him in 1464 has been preserved in the Kupferstichkabinett of the Staatliche Museen Berlin and suggests his humanistic ambitions. The work is based mainly on the novel "Historia Troiana" written in Latin by Guido de Columna . The Badische Landesbibliothek keeps another manuscript with Cunrat Segenschmid as scribe as Codex Donaueschingen 482: Konrad Steckel's translation of Odorico de Pordenone's China travelogue and a German version of the Golden Bull .
