The funeral alley is in the city of Zurich ( Switzerland situated) Old Town -Gasse.

The Scheitergasse connects the Hechtplatz (known for the Hechtplatztheater ) with the Oberdorfstrasse. The alley was originally called Schiterligasse (1509) and was named after the Schiterlihuus (Scheitergasse 2). The house was named after Klewi Schiterli around 1470.

Scheitergasse 1 / Schiffslände 14: House "To the golden lion". The history of the house goes back to the 14th century and was mostly owned by bakers and has been renamed several times. It has had its current name since 1790. The cellar entrance in Scheitergasse bears the year 1600, while a lintel on the first floor bears the year 1545.

Scheitergasse 2 / Schiffslände 12; House "Zum Bilgerischiff". The house was inherited from the abbey and served pilgrims to Einsiedeln as a place to stay. The name of the house is first recorded in 1539.

Scheitergasse 5; House "To the Black Cross". The year in the lintel is 1659.

Scheitergasse 10; House "To the black boot". Date in the lintel 1710.
