Ship letter

The ship's letter is a document about the entry of a ship in the inland shipping register . The inland vessel registration number and the additional letter B result in the official registration number of the vessel.

The German inland shipping registers are kept by some local courts .

In Germany, all inland vessels with a water displacement of more than 10 m³ must be entered in the inland vessel register. Boats with a water displacement of 5 m³ or more can be entered on request.
