As a closing spring , a spring is in firearms denotes that after the backward movement of the shutter returns it back into the initial state. The recoil spring must be precisely matched to the caliber to be fired, otherwise it will unlock too late or too early and the weapon will not work properly.

Closing springs are located inside firearms, either around the barrel or a guide bar underneath.
