Roll damper
The roll damper (rotary damper) is a special type of shock absorber .
It is used in rail vehicles for high speeds (from 120 km / h) to optimize the sinusoidal run of the bogie . As a transverse coupling damper it is used between two adjacent car bodies to prevent lateral vibrations of the car bodies from one another, e.g. B. to minimize yaw and anti-phase roll when driving straight ahead and easy curves.
In motor vehicles, roll dampers are used between the towing vehicle and the caravan in order to dampen the pendulum movements of the caravan.
