Edla Castle
The Edla Castle stands by a large park surrounded the northwestern outskirts area in the Edlastraße no. 34 of the Municipality of Amstetten in the district of Amstetten in Lower Austria . The castle is a listed building ( list entry ).
history
Sylvester Allinger built the New Schlössl in 1534 and moved from the Amstetten outdoor seating area to Edla. It then followed changing owners. The castle went to the municipality of Amstetten in 1938.
The castle, which originally dates back to the 16th century, has been structurally changed several times.
architecture
The simple two-story, cubic, rectangular building under a hipped roof has a younger two-axis porch on the south side and shows a facade with arched and rectangular windows and corner squaring. On the ground floor, a hallway still shows the remains of a puncture cap barrel with ridges.
Immediately next to it is a former bulk box with a hipped roof and slit window with a facade from around 1800.
use
The castle serves as a museum and shows the Urschitz weapons collection . The castle also serves as a music school.
