Kunzendorf Castle ( Polish Pałac w Sieroszowicach ) is located in Sieroszowice (German Kunzendorf ) in the rural municipality of Radwanice , Powiat Polkowicki ( Polkwitz district ) in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship in Poland. Historically, the castle was in the Principality of Glogau .

history

From the 16th century there was a manor house in the village , ancestral seat of the von Necher family. Later the von Loos and von Skopp owners, from 1718 von Knobelsdorff . At the end of the 18th century, Friedrich Karl Heinrich von Eckartsberg acquired the estate at Oberzauche Castle and had today's three-winged castle built in the classicism style. The architect was probably Christian Valentin Schultze.

In the second half of the 19th century ownership went to the von Winterfeld family . After several changes of ownership, Gerhard Simon-Pflug became the owner in 1926, and from 1934 Johann-Georg Prince of Schleswig-Holstein.

After 1945 the castle was used as a kindergarten, but fell into disrepair. Today it is privately owned and is being restored.

architecture

The main facade is 13-axis and is accentuated by a three-axis central projection with ionic columns . Side elevations are attached to the building corners. At the back there are two biaxial side wings. Their front sides are designed with coffered semicircular niches. The reliefs with scenes from the ancient world and mythology, which are embedded in the facades, are remarkable .
