Prausnitz Castle

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Prausnitz Castle was a town castle in Prusice (Prausnitz), Lower Silesian Voivodeship . Historically, the place belonged to the Militsch district .

A first castle in the village was possibly built in 1262 or 1297. From 1337 the place fell to the Duchy of Opole , which probably had a new stone building built. The castle was rebuilt from 1691 to 1693 and largely demolished after a fire in 1806. Some walls and cellar fragments and a round tower with an octagonal top from the 15th century have been preserved from the building stock.
