Wahlstatt Castle

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Wahlstatt Castle ( Polish : Pałac Blüchera w Legnickim Polu ) was a castle in Legnickie Pole in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship .

history

The castle was built on a monastic estate. The grandson of Gebhard Leberecht von Blücher , who was made Prince Blücher von Wahlstatt in 1814, took over this estate in 1837 and had a castle built. This may have been related to the conversion of the abbey into a cadet institute based on plans by Karl Friedrich Schinkel .

The castle was located in today's Kossak-Szczuckiej Street.
