Castle captain

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The castle captain was the title of a court charge that was awarded as an honorary position .

The title of castle captain was seen as a conversion of the pre-existing batch of castle bailiffs . In Prussia and the northern German states, he was typically awarded to senior chamberlains and granted the owners a position that was directly below the upper court charge. The number of posts was not fixed. It was nominally linked to the palaces of the ruling house, but without any service being associated with it.
