Snow escape right

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Snow is not uncommon on the high alpine pastures in July.

The Schneeflucht law made it possible for dangerous Wetterumstürzen, especially in early or late snowfall, the Almvieh in deeper foreign pastures , mountain pastures to drive or forests.

The right to escape snow was contractually regulated early on in many parts of western Austria and neighboring Switzerland as a binding legal claim and is tied to certain conditions such as a waiting period until claims and compensation. The right to escape from snow was important for alpine farming , but burdened with considerable potential for conflict. In the present - if it is still binding - with today's alpine buildings and access roads it is usually no longer relevant.

The earlier meaning of this right is also reflected in the field name "Snow Escape".
