Snow blown up by an intercity . Occurring quickly, especially in traffic, can often lead to a road traffic accident .

Drifting snow prevails when snow lying on the ground is thrown up by the wind at eye level of the observer and the visibility at eye level drops below one kilometer.

Blowing snow below eye level is known as snow sweeping .
