Snow tub

A snow tub

A snow tub or snow witch is a tool for manual snow removal . In contrast to the snow shovel , with this device the clearing snow can be cleared aside without lifting it up shovel by shovel, as it is only picked up by pushing it with the lowered front edge and then moved in the trough sliding on the ground. Significantly larger amounts of snow can be moved over longer distances per work process than with a snow shovel or snow shovel , and the treatment of compact or heavy wet snow is less strenuous. However, the prerequisite for efficient use is a certain minimum amount of snow on the clearing surface in order to enable sliding on the underside of the tub.

Larger snow pans have an approximately 60 cm wide and 80 cm long "shovel" made of (galvanized) sheet steel , the slightly curved underside of which rests on the ground. A U-shaped guide bracket made of tubular steel is attached to the tub at an angle of approx. 50 degrees to the horizontal. The handle is used with both hands to guide the snow tub.
