Rapid action group dangerous substances and goods

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A rapid action group for dangerous substances and goods ( SEG-GSG or SEG-CBRN (E) , very occasionally also called SEG dangerous goods ), in cooperation with the fire department , provides first aid to contaminated injured persons and helps with decontamination . All in all, the equipment is similar to that of other units in the NBC service , but with a focus on the rescue and emergency medical care of people who have had an accident.

Since many fire brigades do not have extensive medical knowledge and paramedics generally do not have adequate protective equipment for NBC operations, the idea for a corresponding rapid response group was born. The unit consists of members of the aid organizations with medical training who can be alerted quickly, who have special training in hazardous substances and the necessary protective equipment as well as special material for patient care and decontamination.

According to Bavarian standards, the corresponding units should have graduated strengths and are assigned to the CBRN (E) specialist service.
