The Schoeller Holdings Ltd. is a holding company based in Limassol , which, with its subsidiaries, operates primarily in the shipping and hotel sectors.
history
In 1978, the the family of entrepreneurs Schoeller belonging Heinrich Schoeller, who previously in the Hamburg shipping company F. Christian Ahrenkiel had been working under the umbrella holding company Schoeller Holdings Ltd. founded his own shipping company Columbia Shipmanagement in Cyprus and began operating the first ships in 1979. In 1981 around 50 ships and in 1986 100 units were looked after.
In the 1980s, the construction and operation of hotels and resorts with Columbia Hotels & Resorts was added as a second pillar. In the meantime, seven houses were operated, but several have since been sold again.
In the course of the shipping crisis that began in 2008, the company got into financial difficulties. In order to prevent Schoeller from going bankrupt and to have at least part of the ship loan repaid, HSH Nordbank canceled Schoeller Holdings around 680 million euros of its debts. In this context, a merger between Columbia Shipmanagement and the manning company Marlow Navigation , founded by Hermann Eden in Limassol in 1982, began in 2017 , which initially could not be adequately implemented.

- Schoeller Holdings owns the group's own fleet of 78 ships (May 2019).
- Columbia Shipmanagement in Limassol is one of the largest ship management companies in the world. CSM carries out the technical and commercial management of over 300 cargo and passenger ships.
- CSM Cruise Services in Limassol manned passenger ships with restaurant and hotel staff.
- Bengal Tiger Line in Singapore operates liner shipping in Asia. (2018 sold)
- Austral Asia Line in Singapore operates liner shipping in Asia.
- New Pacific Shipping (Newpac) in Singapore operates liner shipping in Asia.
- Hanse Bereederung in Hamburg is entrusted with the chartering of the dry cargo ships.
- United Produkt Tankers in Hamburg has been entrusted with chartering out the product tankers.
- United Chemical Tankers in Hamburg has been entrusted with chartering out the chemical tankers.
- Horizon Shipping Agencies in Singapore is the shipping agency for its own and other liner shipping companies.
- First Ship Lease in Singapore is a ship finance company.
- Columbia Hotels & Resorts in Limassol builds and operates hotels in Germany and Cyprus.
