Slash marriage

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A slash marriage is a type of relationship in which a couple lives together like a married couple , but without the intention of getting married . Legally, it represents a marriage-like community similar to a wild marriage . The partners confess to each other in public and introduce each other as "my partner" or "my partner".

The term slash marriage is derived from the common house letter box and doorbell signs on which the surnames of both partners are named: Mustermann / Musterfrau. The word slash marriage was in the FRG in 1981 in fifth place for the word of the year election .
