Drawer extension

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The drawer pull-outs are pull-out rails that make it easy to open and close drawers .

Extension types

  • Single pull-out is the usual pull-out in which the drawer can be pulled out to around 15 to 20 centimeters of the entire depth, the loss of pull-out
  • Full extension is usually a 3-part system in which the drawer can be pulled out completely from the body. There is no loss of space.
  • Differential pull-out generally allows a small amount of pull-out loss; depending on the manufacturer, these are also available with over-extension. The pull-out path is therefore greater than the depth of the drawer. This type of pull-out is mainly used in the office and refrigerated furniture sector.

Executions

With these types of pull-outs, almost all areas can be covered; cross-connections are often used for more specific purposes, for example, body pull-out, TV pull-out with rotary plate.

Technical differences

Drawer pull-outs are offered with the following techniques

  • Plastic rollers
  • Ball guide
  • ball-bearing
  • Plastic rollers

If used appropriately, all variants have their justification, with plastic rollers the quality of the plastic is decisive.

Mounting types

  • Surface mounting
  • Underfloor installation (= minimum space requirement on the side)
  • Side mounting (= minimum space requirement in height)
  • Drawer pull-outs integrated in drawer frames are usually designed for underfloor installation
